The 2nd African Women's Handball Championship in 1976 was held from April 10th to 18th, 1976 in Salle Harcha-Hacène in Algiers and served as a qualification for the 1976 Summer Olympics , which, however, were boycotted by most of the African countries. The tournament, which took place at the same time as the men's competition , was hosted by the Confédération Africaine de Handball (CAHB). The defending champion from Tunisia won the competition ahead of the People's Republic of Congo and the host country Algeria .
