The 1st African men's
handball championship ( French Coupe d'Afrique des Nations de Handball ) was organized in 1974 in the Tunisian capital Tunis by the Confédération Africaine de Handball (CAHB). Five teams qualified for the finals. Host Tunisia won the tournament ahead of Cameroon and Senegal . The team from Togo finished fourth, the Central African Republic fifth ; the participation of Egypt in the event is in the present source with a highlighted red - indicated ".".
