Ghiselin Danckerts
Ghiselin Danckerts (also: Dankers ; * around 1510 in Tholen ( Zeeland ); † around 1567 in Rome ?) Was a Dutch singer and composer.
All that is known about his life is that he was a singer in the papal band from 1538 to 1565. Until 1567 he was mentioned as a "second class singer" in the lists of the band, after which his track is lost.
Two motets , two madrigals and three canons by him have survived , whereby his compositional technique exclusively followed the old Dutch school and refused to accept any "modernism" of the time.
