Giacomo Alberti
Giacomo Alberti (also Giacomo Martini , Giacomo Albertini or Giacomo Aubertini ; * late 13th century in Prato , † after 1335 in Munich ) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church .
The intercession of his uncle, Cardinal Niccolò Alberti , gave Giacomo access to a number of benefices. From June 19, 1311, he succeeded his older brother Galasso, Bishop of Castello (in Venice ), but did not reach canonical age until 1317 . He was appointed cardinal ( pseudocardinal ) and bishop of Ostia and Velletri by antipope Nicholas V on May 15, 1328 . Pope John XXII. excommunicated him. He moved to Bavaria in 1329 and continued to call himself "Bishop of Ostia" and "Papal Legate". He took up his residence in Munich, where he also died.
