Giacomo Zappacosta (born April 21, 1988 in Chieti ) is an Italian football player who has been under contract with SS Barletta Calcio since 2011 .

Career

Giacomo Zappacosta began his career at Club Pescara Calcio , where he was included in the professional squad for the 2005/06 season, but did not play a single league game until the end of the season. The midfielder made his professional debut on June 10, 2007 in the away game at US Lecce , the game was lost 4-1 and at the end of the season he was relegated from Serie B with Pescara . Also in the following season he only received sporadic missions with the Biancoazzurri and only completed three league games, all of which ended in a 1-1 draw. For the 2008/09 season, Zappacosta moved on loan to league rivals Pro Patria Calcio , where he quickly became a top performer of the team and completed a total of 28 games. On September 14, 2008 he scored his first professional goal in a 4-0 victory over AC Monza Brianza . He took part at the end of the season with Pro Patria in the playoff games for promotion to Serie B and failed in the finals against Calcio Padova .

After the failed promotion, the midfielder returned to Pescara for the 2009/10 season. In the course of the season he got more match practice with the Abruzzo club and often ran as a substitute on the field.

At the end of the 2009/10 season, he was promoted to the second division with Pescara. In the play-off finals, the team prevailed against Hellas Verona .

Zappacosta has been under contract with SS Barletta Calcio since 2011, but spent the 2012/13 season on loan with US Lecce .
