Gian Maria Cominetti

Giovanni Maria Pietro Cominetti (born December 14, 1884 in Salasco , † September 2, 1961 in Rome ) was an Italian theater director and screenwriter .

Life

Cominetti was a journalist , but also worked as a theater director and headed the “Compagnia della Commedia”. In search of suitable pieces, he also researched the library of the Comédie-Française and adapted them for the stage.

In the 1940s he directed several documentaries , often biographical in nature; he also wrote some of the scripts. In 1943 he was responsible for directing the Italian versions of two films.
