Giancarlo Bigazzi

Giancarlo Bigazzi (born September 5, 1940 in Florence , † January 18, 2012 in Viareggio ) was an Italian song composer and author.

Life

Bigazzi wrote his first hits for Riccardo Del Turco (“Luglio”), Mario Tessuto (“Lisa dagli ochi blu”) and Renato dei Profeti (“Lady Barbara”) back in the 1960s . In the following decade, too, he achieved many successes, several times together with Toto Savio and for artists such as Massimo Ranieri , Gianni Nazaro and Gigliola Cinquetti . Bigazzi was mostly responsible for the lyrics, but was also involved in the composition.

In 1971, Bigazzi with Savio and others, the group Squallor , with which he recorded several disks and also starred in films, so in but failed spaghetti western spoof Arrapaho . Singers like Gianni Bella and Umberto Tozzi continued to benefit from his work. Together with the latter, he wrote text and music for the hit hit Ti amo in 1977 , of which Howard Carpendale also recorded a very successful German cover version.

In the 1990s he was the producer of new discoveries such as Marco Masini , Alessandro Canini and Raf in Florence . Film music can now also be found among his works.
