Gianfranco Cabiddu

Gianfranco Cabiddu (* 1953 in Cagliari ) is an Italian ethnomusicologist , sound engineer and film director .

Life

From 1974 Cabiddu studied ethnomusicology at the DAMS (danza, arte, musica e spettacolo) faculty of the University of Bologna and after graduating in 1980 he moved to Rome, where he initially worked for a few years with the theater of the La Sapienza University and then focused on sound engineering for films turned towards, where he worked for several productions between 1983 and 1989. As a director, he was responsible for two films based on his own scripts, which were set in Sardinia in the 1930s and 1950s and met with great interest. Cabiddu mainly shoots documentaries related to his homeland,

In 2007 Cabiddu directed an episode of the television series Crimini . In addition to his film work, the hobby jazz musician Cabiddu continues to work for and in music productions such as Sonos è memoria . He is responsible for the film program at the Time in Jazz Festival .
