Gianluca De Candia

Gianluca De Candia (born January 5, 1983 ) is an Italian Roman Catholic theologian who has lived and worked in Germany since 2013.

Life

After studying Catholic theology at the Theological Faculty of Apulia (Bari), which he did with the work Das itinerarium mentis in Deum as itinerarium Dei in mentem. Having completed the conflict of interpretations , he obtained his licentiate in fundamental theology at the Gregorian University in 2009 with the work Christianity as a style. In 2011 he received his doctorate there in fundamental theology with Elmar Salmann ; Title of the doctoral thesis: Debuit et decuit Deo et hominibus. The necessity and the more-than-necessary as a transcendental and historical category of Christian theology . In 2012 he obtained an MA in Philosophy from the University of Bari . From 2010 to 2013 he was a lecturer in theological propaedeutics, systematic theology and philosophy at the Istituto Superiore di Scienze Religose in Bari and at the Theological Faculty of Apulia. He came to Germany in 2013 as a Research Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation , from which the habilitation project The Beginning as Freedom. Massimo Cacciari's way of thinking emerged in the field of tension between philosophy and theology . With this thesis, in 2017, he completed his habilitation for the subject of basic philosophical questions in theology at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the Westphalian Wilhelms-Universität Münster (first reviewer: Klaus Müller ; second reviewer : Elmar Salmann) and was appointed private lecturer there. At the same time, he maintained contacts with the Leibniz Research Center at Thomas Leinkauf in Münster, which resulted in the essay The Scotus Reception of Young Leibniz (Studia Leibnitiana 2016). Since October 2018 he has been a deputy chair for systematic theology at the seminar for Catholic theology at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Siegen . Since March 2018, the DFG has been funding his research project on modern Italian philosophy, namely the school of Luigi Pareyson , and its cultural and theological fertility.
