Gianluigi Braschi
Gianluigi Braschi (* 1963 in Cesena , Italy ; † October 23, 2008 in Milan ) was an Italian producer .
Life
Braschi worked several times with the director Roberto Benigni , whose wife Nicoletta Braschi was his sister. Their first cooperation took place in 1991 with the film Toothpick Johnny , in which Braschi acted as production secretary. Braschi's greatest success was the film Life is Beautiful , for which he and Elda Ferri won a European Film Award in 1998, received a nomination for the 1999 Academy Awards and to this day one of the most successful foreign language films in the USA with a worldwide box office of 229 million US dollar is.
