Gianni Puccini

Gianni Puccini (born November 9, 1914 in Milan , † December 3, 1968 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Puccini, son of the writer Mario Puccini , moved to the Italian capital to study and graduated from Lettere e Filosofia . From 1938 he worked as a critic for Bianco e Nero and Cinema ; In 43 he also became editor of the latter magazine. Since the early 1940s, he has also been active as a screenwriter for over 30 productions by well-known directors. He often worked with Giuseppe De Santis . From 1951 he also directed films that were successful with audiences; last time in 1967 in the drama I sette fratelli Cervi .

Puccini's brother is the director Massimo Mida .
