Gianni Michel Eugene Zuiverloon (born December 30, 1986 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch football player . The defender is under contract with Indian first division club Delhi Dynamos FC .

Career

society

Zuiverloon joined the youth team of Feyenoord Rotterdam at the age of six . At that time, his mother brought him for a trial session. The coaches recognized his talent and Zuiverloon remained loyal to the club for eleven years. In 2004/05 he was part of the team's professional squad, but was initially planned for the reserve team. But shortly afterwards, the then coach Ruud Gullit called him to the first team due to an injury to Dustley Mulder . On August 22, 2004 he made his debut against Willem II Tilburg . He played a total of ten games this season. In order to give him more playing practice, the Feyenoord officials decided to loan him out to RKC Waalwijk for a year . There he had regular appearances and scored his first competitive goal. In 2006 he moved to SC Heerenveen with a three-year contract . In 2008, the English first division promoted West Bromwich Albion signed him for a transfer of 3.2 million pounds. There he became a regular player straight away.

In the summer of 2011 Zuiverloon moved to the Spanish first division club RCD Mallorca . From there he was loaned to the Netherlands for sc Heerenveen . For the 2013/14 season he switched to his league rivals ADO Den Haag with a three-year contract .

National team

After he had already played in several other youth teams in the Netherlands , Zuiverloon became a national player for the U-21 national team of the Netherlands . With the Jong Oranje he won the U-21 European Football Championship in 2007 . The semi-final was decided against England with 13:12 on penalties. After 90 minutes the score was 1: 1. Zuiverloon converted the decisive goal for the Netherlands. He completed four of five possible games in this championship. At the end of the competition, he was nominated for the UEFA All-Star Team.

For the 2008 Summer Olympics , he was appointed to the squad of the Netherlands .
