Giedrius Viliūnas
Giedrius Viliūnas (* 1963 in Marijampolė ) is a Lithuanian Lituanist and politician , Lithuanian Deputy Minister of Education and Science .
Life
After graduating from secondary school, Giedrius Viliūnas graduated from the Vilniaus universitetas with a degree in Lithuanian philology in 1986 . In 1989 he received his doctorate as a candidate for science. (Certified in 1993) in Lituanistik . From 1989 to 2007 he taught as a lecturer and from 1994 as a lecturer and from 1996 to 2006 headed the chair at VU. Then Giedrius Viliūnas taught at the MRU and was Vice-Rector for Studies . Since December 2016 he has been Vice Minister , Deputy Minister of Education Jurgita Petrauskienė in the Skvernelis cabinet .
From 1997 to 2001 Giedrius Viliūnas was Vice President of the Association of Lituanists of the World.
