The whip-nosed anglers (Gigantactinidae, ( Gr ., Gigas = large, aktis = ray)) are a family of deep-sea frogfish (Ceratioidei). They live in the Atlantic , Indian, and Pacific .

features

The females have an elongated body. Your fishing rod (Illicium) is body length or longer. The upper jaw is slightly shorter than the lower jaw. Their pectoral fins have 5 rays , the dorsal fin 3 to 10, the anal fin 3 to 8 and the caudal fin 9. Whip-nosed anglers feed on other deep-sea fish. Their larvae have loose skin and a bloated body. So far there is no evidence of brood parasitism.
