The four-speed gearbox, which was optionally equipped with overdrive , also came from Ford . As with the smaller Gilbern GT model, the steering and the rear axle came from the MGB . In contrast to the MG, the rear axle suspension was equipped with spring struts and drawn trailing arms.
The 2.5 liter version ran out in 1968. In 1969 the fully assembled car cost around £ 2000. 197 were built in three years.
With a wheelbase of 2356 mm, the vehicle was 4039 mm long, 1651 mm wide and 1320 mm high. The curb weight was given as 1118 kg.
In 1969 the Gilbern Invader replaced the model.
