Gilberto Machado , full name Gilberto Sandalio Machado Gómez , (* 20th century) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Defender Machado stood in Montevideo's Nacional ranks at least in 1964 . In 1966 he played with Liverpool Montevideo in the Segunda División (B) and rose to the Primera División for the 1967 season with the team coached by Eugenio Galvalissi .

In 1973 he moved to the Argentine Club Cipolletti for three months , but stayed there until 1978. In that year he moved to Independiente de Neuquén , for which he completed several seasons. The source situation is contradictory, since in the years 1976 and 1979 Machados also played for Nacional in the Copa Libertadores . It is also listed in other sources from 1976 to 1979 in the ranks of Nacionals.

National team

Machado was one of the Celeste's squad at the 1963 Pan American Games . He was with the Uruguayan junior selection at the Junior South American Championship of 1964 South American champions. Coach Juan Carlos Ranzone used him in five tournaments. He didn't score a goal.

After the career

After his active sports career, Machado worked as a coach in the amateur field. In 2013 he has been involved in university sports in Argentina for 19 years.
