The Gillenbach is a left tributary of the Sirzenich Bach shortly before the Pallien district of the city of Trier , which flows into the Moselle there . The length is 1.77 km, the water catchment area has a size of 1.61 km², the river code number is 265322.

The waterfall of the Gillenbach is a freely falling step over a sandstone wall in Trier-Pallien shortly before the confluence with the Sirzenich Bach and has a height of 20 m. Due to road construction work, the Gillenbach only carries water after heavy rainfall. The waterfall is also dry for most of the year.

In the Gillenbachtal, above the waterfall, there is the 47 hectare nature reserve Gillenbachtal .
