Gini reticker

Virginia "Gini" Reticker (* 20th century ) is a film producer , film director and documentary filmmaker .

Career

Reticker began working on the film staff in 1987, where she worked as a film editor on the documentary Fire from the Mountain . She then made her directorial debut in the film The Heart of the Matter, for which she received a nomination for the “Grand Jury Prize” at the Sundance Film Festival and was presented with the “Freedom of Expression Award”. For her participation in the documentary short film Asylum , she and Sandy McLeod received an Oscar nomination at the 2004 Academy Awards in the category “ best documentary short film ”. However, the award went to Maryann DeLeo for her contribution to Chernobyl Heart . In addition, Reticker received the “Short Filmmaking Award - Honorable Mention” at the Sundance Film Festival.

In 2005, she received a News & Documentary Emmy Award for her participation in the Ladies First episode of the television series Wide Angle . She received a Primetime Emmy Awards nomination that same year for A Decade Under the Influence . With the documentary film Pray the Devil Black to Hell from 2008, she captured the women's movement that protested for peace in Liberia.

Reticker founded Fork Films in 2007 with Abigail Disney .
