Gintarė Šakalytė

Gintarė Šakalytė (born August 28, 1965 ) is a Lithuanian cardiologist , former health politician , Vice Minister from 2016 to 2018 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1983, she completed a diploma in medicine from 1983 to 1989 and residency in cardiology at the Kauno medicinos institutas in Kaunas from 1989 to 1990 . From 1999 to 2002 she did her doctorate at the Kauno medicinos universitetas , from 2016 she taught at the Lietuvos sveikatos mokslų universitetas . From December 23, 2016 to January 2018, she was Deputy Minister of Health of Lithuania , deputy to Aurelijus Veryga in the Skvernelis cabinet (17th government).

Šakalytė is non-party and speaks Lithuanian, Russian and English.
