Gintaras Pukas

Gintaras Pukas (born August 12, 1950 in Kaunas , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian lawyer and former politician, Deputy Minister for International Economic Relations and Mayor of Kaunas.

Life

After graduating from the 6th Kaunas Middle School, he completed a diploma course in 1974 at the Vilnius University Law Faculty . From 1968 to 1973 he worked at Statybos ir architektūros institutas and at Vilnius University. He was a lawyer in Panevėžys , headed the Panevėžys law firm from 1976 to 1983 , then headed the Kaunas firm and founded his own law firm "Pukas ir partneriai" in 1995. After the declaration of Lithuanian independence (from April 1990 to October 1991) he was chairman of the Deputy Councilor Kaunas (Mayor), then Lithuanian Vice Minister , Deputy Minister for International Economic Relations .

From 1976 to 2002 he was a member of the Presidium of the Lithuanian Bar Association .
