Walter Bucerius
Walter Bucerius [ buˈtseʁius ] (born September 28, 1876 in Emden , † July 25, 1945 in Schönningstedt ) was a German municipal administrative officer, later director of Stinnes AG and then a lawyer and notary.
Life
After graduating from high school, he studied law in Göttingen . Then in 1907 he joined the municipal administration of the city of Remscheid . In 1910 he became a full-time alderman for the city of Essen . Between 1914 and 1917 he took part in the First World War. In 1919 he joined the DVP . In 1920, he became mayor in Hannover and had the combing among themselves. After he was unable to assert himself with his tough austerity course, he gave up his office in 1922 and became director of Hugo Stinnes AG for shipping and overseas trade in Hamburg. After Hugo Stinnes' death in 1924, Bucerius went into business for himself as a lawyer and notary in Altona in 1926 with a partner.
He was the father of Gerd Bucerius , who joined the firm as a lawyer in spring 1933.
