Gion Giusep Derungs

Gion Giusep Derungs (born April 15, 1932 in Surcasti ) is a Swiss musician.

Derungs studied singing with Walter Sterk and choral conducting with Paul Schaller at the Basel Conservatory from 1959 to 1964 . From 1964 to 1997 he was a music teacher at the Bündner Kantonsschule in Chur . He led various choirs, was an expert at singing festivals and a member of several music commissions. He is also known for his diverse compositional activities, especially in the area of Rhaeto-Romanic choirs.

  • 1977: Award of the songs Stà and Tes egls at the composition competition of the Berner Liedertafel
  • 1983: Recognition award from the Canton of Graubünden
