Susanne Conrad

Susanne Conrad (born September 14, 1958 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Life

Susanne Conrad spent her childhood in Glottertal . After graduating from high school, she began studying literature and theater at Jamestown College in Jamestown (North Dakota) , USA , from which she graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts. She then studied German, English and philosophy in Würzburg and Mainz and took her state examination for teaching at grammar schools in 1983. During her studies she was a regular freelancer for Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden and in Mainz as an author and presenter.

From 1984 to 1985 she completed a traineeship at ZDF . Since 1985 she has been an editor, presenter and author at the Second German Television. In 1989 she helped launch the ZDF lunch magazine and was part of the “first hour” quartet of moderators. In 1996 she left the midday magazine and hosted the show tonight until 1998 . In addition, from 1997 she hosted the ZDF talk show Conrad & Co on Saturdays for four years . In 1999 she returned to the midday news magazine and was “the face” of the ZDF midday magazine until March 2015 . From 2013 to 2014 she moderated the LandGut series . Since April 1, 2015, Conrad has been an editor at the ZDF Landesstudio Hessen in Wiesbaden .

Susanne Conrad is involved in the campaign initiated by doctors through the breast into the heart - the challenge of breast cancer . She moderates information events on the topic and, also as part of the campaign, is the patron of the campaign How do I tell my loved ones .

In 2013 she published the book Dying for Beginners , published by Ullstein-Verlag, in which she deals with dying and death in our society.

In the same year she was involved in the establishment of the "Mainz Palliative Foundation - Life to the Last" and is a member of the Board of Trustees.

Susanne Conrad is married and has three children.
