Gion Not Spegnas

Gion Not Spegnas , actually Johann Otto Spinas ( February 27, 1888 in Tinizong - July 16, 1971 in Savognin or Tinizong) was a Swiss playwright and poet in Rhaeto-Romanic .

Life

Spegnas, son of Gion Franzestg Spinas and Helena Maria geb. Augustin, first attended the commercial school in Freiburg. He then worked as a concierge at home and abroad. In 1928 he founded the agricultural consumer cooperative in Tinizong and headed it until 1962.

In addition, Spegans worked as a playwright and poet in the Romansh language. For the historical drama of the same name about Benedetg Fontana , which describes the events that led to the Calvenschlacht of 1499, he received the prize of the Swiss Schiller Foundation in 1929 . Spegnas also wrote numerous poems. In 1921 he was one of the founders of the “Uniun rumantscha da Surmeir” (URS). From 1935 to 1943 he was also President of the Oberhalbstein district and a Catholic-Conservative member of the Grisons Grand Council.

He was married to Elma Luisa Bühlmann.
