The Giona ( modern Greek Γκιώνα , ancient name from ancient Greek Ασέληνον όρος Aselēnon Oros ) is the highest mountain on the Greek mainland south of Mount Olympus and the region of Central Greece , as well as the fifth highest mountain in all of Greece . The maximum height above sea level is 2510 meters (Pyramida peak), other peaks of the mountain range are the Perdika (2484 meters), Tragonos (2456 meters), Plativouna (2346 meters), Profitis Ilias (2300 meters), Braila (2179 meters) , Kastro (2176 meters), Paliovouni (2122 meters), Pyrgos (2066 meters), Botsikos (1948 meters), Kokkinari (1908 meters) and Lyritsa (1900 meters).

The Giona is located in the regional district of Fokida in central Greece and is a southern continuation of the Pindos Mountains. In the east of the Giona is the Parnass massif, in the west the Vardousia mountains and in the north the Oite massif. The river Mornos has its source in the west of the Giona .
