Giorgia is a dark red variety of sweet cherries belonging to the heart cherries .
origin
The 'Giorgia' variety was bred by Giorgio Bargioni at the University of Verona in the Institute for Experimental Fruit by crossing the ' ISF 123 ' and ' Caccianese ' varieties .

The tree grows medium to strong, strongly axially with weak side branches.

The stone fruit is large to very large, heart-shaped , depending on the hanging . The skin is dark red when fully ripe . The flesh is firm with a spicy and very aromatic taste. The fruit has a medium burst resistance and ripens in the 3rd to 4th cherry week .
Other characteristics
The 'Giorgia' variety is self-sterile and needs a fertilization partner. ' Burlat ', ' Kordia ' and ' Lapins ' are suitable . The flowering time is early to medium early. Regular and high-yielding variety with a tendency to overhanging.
