Giorgio Conte (born April 23, 1941 in Asti ) is an Italian singer, songwriter and composer. He is the younger brother of Paolo Conte .

Life

The two brothers made their first musical experiences in the same band with Giorgio on drums and Paolo on vibraphone . Shortly thereafter, they parted ways and Giorgio began to compose for numerous Italian interpreters such as Mia Martini (Agapimu), Equipe 84 (Una giornata al mare), Rosanna Fratello (Non sono Maddalena) and Gipo Farassino ( La mia gente, Girano).

He began as a singer in 1983 with the album Zona Cesarini , which was followed in 1987 by L'erba di San Pietro ; however, he continued to write primarily for other artists such as Ornella Vanoni , Mina ( Tir and Il plaid ) and Francesco Baccini ( Qua qua quando and La giostra di Bastian ). As a songwriter and singer, he accompanied Loretta Goggi (Fuori ci sono i lupi) and Rossana Casale (Davvero propizio il giorno per il Toro e il Capricorno). At the same time he was involved in radio programs and at the theater.

Like his brother, he worked in a law firm until he devoted himself entirely to music in 1993. Since then he has been traveling mainly in other European countries, where he has had numerous concert successes. He did not return to Italy until 1999. Conte released a number of successful records and performs regularly in various European countries as well as Canada.
