Giorgis Xylouris ( Greek Γιώργης Ξυλούρης , also Giorgos Xylouris , Γιώργος Ξυλούρης ; * September 25, 1965 ) known as Psarogiorgis ( Ψαρογιώργης ), is a Greek laouto player and singer

Xylouris comes from a Greek family of musicians. His father Andonis Xylouris (Psarandonis) was a lyre player and singer, his uncle Nikos Xylouris ( Psaronikos ) was a composer and singer. His brother Charalambos Xylouris , his sister Niki Xylouris and his three children Nikos , Adonis and Apollonia also embarked on a musical career. He grew up in Anogia in the tradition of Cretan music and was raised by his uncle Giannis Xylouris ( Psarogiannis) informed. He has performed with his father since he was eleven. He later lived in Australia for several years, where he founded the Xylouris Ensemble in the early 1990s .

During his performances he developed the Cretan laouto from a classical accompaniment instrument to a solo instrument. At concerts he performed with folk and world musicians such as Giannis Angelakas , Vassilis Stavrakakis , Stelios Petrakis , Periklis Papapetropoulos and Giankos Chaitretis . With his Xylouris Ensemble he recorded several albums. Since 2013 he has formed the duo Xylouris White with the Australian drummer Jim White .
