Giovanna Gagliardo

Giovanna Gagliardo (born December 12, 1941 in Monticello d'Alba ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

After a short experience as an actress (in 1961 she played in Elio Petris Do you trust Alfredo to murder? ), Gagliardo worked as a journalist for Il Giorno , Tempo Illustrato , Il Messaggero and La Repubblica . In 1967 she wrote a screenplay for the first time, writing for television as well as for the big screen. Miklós Jancsó was the director of these books several times . In 1977 she made her debut as a director with Maternale , in which she described the changes in the Italian bourgeoisie in the 1960s based on the story of a mother-daughter relationship. After a television film, two women were again the focus of Via degli specchi . In 1991 her last feature film followed, after which Gagliardo devoted himself to documentary material.
