Giovanni Boaga

Giovanni Boaga (born February 28, 1902 in Trieste , † November 17, 1961 in Tripoli ) was an Italian mathematician and geodesist .

Boaga was Professor of Geodesy and Topography at the Universities of Pisa (1933) and Rome (1942), during the Second World War Chief Geodetic of the Military Geographic Institute in Florence and from 1945 to 1954 head of the Cadastral Department in the Ministry of Finance in Rome.

Boaga was a member of several scientific societies, including the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei since 1948. From 1955 to 1961 he was President of the Geographical Society of Italy ( Società Geografica Italiana ).
