Giovanni Dominedò

Giovanni Dominedò (* 27. April 1938 in Naples ) is an Italian diplomat in retirement .

Career

In 1963 he joined the foreign service. From 1965 to 1969 he was Vice-Consul, later Secretary of the First Class in Paris . From 1969 to 1972 he was envoy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy) in Rome . From 1972 to 1973 he was Counselor in Beirut . From 1973 to 1974 he was employed on the staff of the Foreign Minister in Rome. From 1975 to 1976 he was on the Prime Minister's diplomatic staff. From 1976 to 1980 was deputy head of the diplomatic staff of the prime minister. From 1980 to 1983 he was First Class Counselor in Athens . From 1983 to 1986 he was executive head of the staff of the foreign minister. In 1985 he was appointed Ministre plénipotentiaire . From 1986 to 1987 he was ambassador to Tel Aviv . From 1987 to 1991 he held the post of diplomatic advisor to the prime minister and was appointed ambassador in 1989. From 1991 to 1995 he was ambassador to Athens . From 1995 to 1999 he was ambassador to Tokyo . In 1999 he was appointed Head of Human Resources. From August 19, 2002 to June 5, 2005 he was ambassador to Paris .
