Michelangelo Jacobucci

Michelangelo Iacobucci (* 8. April 1934 in Vinchiaturo ) is an Italian diplomat in retirement .

Career

On November 30, 1956, he graduated from the University of Rome with a law degree .

On December 31, 1959, he joined the foreign service. From January 27, 1962 to December 2, 1966 he was Vice Consul in Melbourne . From December 2, 1966 to July 1, 1973 he was first-class delegation secretary in Vienna . From July 1, 1973 to August 23, 1975, he was First Class Counselor in Beijing . From August 23, 1975 to January 2, 1980, he served on the First Class Legation Council in Washington, DC. From January 2, 1980 to July 16, 1985, he was seconded to the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic.

From July 16, 1985 to January 11, 1989 he was ambassador to Algiers .

From January 11, 1989 to August 28, 1991 he was ambassador to Athens .

From August 28, 1991 to April 1, 1997 he was Permanent Representative of the Italian Government to UNESCO in Paris.

From April 1, 1997 to October 14, 2000, he was ambassador to Brasília and at the same time was accredited as ambassador to Georgetown ( Guyana ) and Paramaribo ( Suriname ), based in Brasília .

He was retired on November 1, 2000 .
