Vincenzo Petrone

Vincenzo Petrone (* 25. August 1946 in Foggia ) is an Italian diplomat in retirement .

Career

On March 17, 1970 he graduated from the University of Trieste with a degree in political science and on March 16, 1971 he entered the foreign service.

From September 15, 1973 to September 12, 1976 he was second-class delegation secretary to the Italian mission next to the UN headquarters and from September 12, 1976 to July 29, 1979 he was in New Delhi as such from July 29, 1979 to 29 September 1986 he was first-class delegation secretary for emigration and social affairs in Bonn and from September 29, 1986 to August 13, 1991 he was as such at the Italian mission next to the UN headquarters . From August 13, 1991 to July 20, 1994 he was First Class Counselor in Buenos Aires . From July 20, 1994 to October 14, 2000, he was Head of Legal Assistance Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy) .

From October 14, 2000 to March 21, 2002 he was ambassador to Brasília and at the same time was accredited as ambassador to Georgetown (Guyana) and Paramaribo ( Suriname ), based in Brasília .

From November 12, 2004 to August 28, 2008 he was seconded as a speaking ambassador to Confindustria (representing the interests of industrial and service companies in Italy).

On August 28, 2008, he was appointed ambassador to Tokyo , where he was accredited from August 28, 2008 to November 1, 2012 and was appointed to the rank of ambassador on January 2, 2009.

He was retired on November 1, 2012 .
