Michele Valensise

Michele Valensise (* 3. April 1952 in Polistena ) is an Italian diplomat in retirement .

Career

On 10 July 1974, he graduated in law at the University of La Sapienza from.

On August 29, 1975, he joined the foreign service. From July 31, 1978 to April 22, 1981, he was the second-class delegation secretary in Brasília . From April 22, 1981 to September 5, 1984 he was first-class legation secretary in Bonn . From September 5, 1984 to August 1, 1987, he was First Class Secretary to Beirut . From August 1, 1987 to June 10, 1991 he was the office manager of the State Secretary in the Foreign Ministry. From November 15, 2004 to July 20, 2009 he was Ambassador to Brasília and at the same time was accredited as Ambassador to Paramaribo ( Suriname ) with his seat in Brasília .

From July 20, 2009 to July 9, 2012 he was ambassador in Berlin .

From July 9, 2012 to March 21, 2016, he was Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Italy) . He retired on March 21, 2016 .
