Giovanni Francesco Guerniero
Giovanni Francesco Guerniero (* around 1665 in Rome ; † March 19, 1745 there ) was an Italian architect and builder .
During a grand tour through Italy in 1699/00, the Hessian landgrave Karl the Roman met and hired him to realize his ideas for a baroque park in Kassel . From 1701 Guerniero created the Hercules Monument and the associated extensive cascades in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe near Kassel. After the project could never be completed due to planning errors and lack of money, Guerniero left for Italy before the construction work was stopped.
