Giovanni Andrea Marcora (* 28. December 1922 in Inveruno , Province of Milan , † 5 February 1983 ) was an Italian politician of the Christian Democrats (DC), who from 1968 until his death in 1983 a member of the Senate ( Senato della Repubblica ) was . Life

Marcora became involved in World War II in the resistance movement Resistenza and belonged to that of Alfredo Di Dio listed antifascist Brigate Fiamme Verdi . On May 19, 1968 Marcora became a member of the Senate ( Senato della Repubblica ) for the DC and represented the interests of the Lombardy region until his death on February 5, 1983 . During his parliamentary membership he was a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forests during the fifth legislative period from July 1968 to May 1972 and then in the sixth, seventh and eighth legislative periods between July 1972 and his death in February 1983 a member of the Senate's Agriculture Committee.

On November 23, 1974, Marcora was appointed to a ministerial office for the first time by Prime Minister Aldo Moro in his fourth cabinet as Minister for Agriculture and Forests (Ministro dell'Agricoltura e Foreste) and also held this ministerial office in the fifth Moro cabinet , in the third , fourth and fifth Andreotti's cabinet and the first and second Cossiga cabinets until October 18, 1980.
