Cabinet Spadolini I

The Spadolini I cabinet ruled Italy from June 28, 1981 to August 23, 1982, followed by the Spadolini II cabinet . As a member of the Republican Party (PRI), Giovanni Spadolini was the first Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, which had existed since 1946, that was not a member of the Christian Democratic Party (DC) . His cabinet was based on a five-party coalition (Pentapartito) consisting of Christian Democrats (DC), Socialists (PSI), Social Democrats (PSDI), Republicans (PRI) and Liberals (PLI).
