The De Gasperi I cabinet ruled Italy from December 10, 1945 to July 13, 1946. Before that, the Parri cabinet ruled , then the De Gasperi II cabinet . The government of Prime Minister Alcide De Gasperi was supported by the following parties in the interim parliament, Consulta Nazionale :

The De Gasperi I cabinet was the last government of the Kingdom of Italy . The referendum on the form of government was held on June 2 and 3, 1946, but the government stayed until the votes were counted, the final official results were published and the constituent assembly, also elected on June 2 and 3, 1946, was constituted and the election of the interim head of state Enrico De Nicola in office. Between the departure of Umberto II into exile and De Nicola taking office, Prime Minister De Gasperi also took over the functions of provisional head of state from June 13 to July 1, 1946. De Nicola swore in the new De Gasperi II cabinet only on July 14, 1946. The latter is considered the first cabinet of the Republic of Italy, although this came into being when the De Gasperi I cabinet was still in office.

After the end of the Second World War , De Gasperi's government, who remained in office as Prime Minister until 1953 , was primarily concerned with rebuilding the country, which remained under Allied occupation until the Paris Peace Treaty of February 10, 1947.
