Ugo La Malfa
Ugo La Malfa (born May 16, 1903 in Palermo , † March 26, 1979 in Rome ) was an Italian politician of the Partito Repubblicano Italiano .
Life
La Malfa studied at the University of Venice , where he came into contact with the republican movement in Treviso . In 1924 he went to Rome , where he supported the anti-fascist opposition and became a member of the Action Party ( Partito d'Azione ). In 1943 he fled to Switzerland. After the Second World War he was a member of the Constituent Assembly in Rome and briefly became Minister of Transport of Italy in 1945. La Malfa became a member of the Partito Repubblicano Italiano and headed the party from April 1965 to February 1975. He was later represented as a member of the Camera dei deputati . In 1963 he was budget minister in Amintore Fanfani's cabinet . From July 7, 1973 to March 14, 1974 he was Minister of the Treasury in the government cabinet of Mariano Rumor . From March to August 1979 he was a minister in Giulio Andreotti's government cabinet .
La Malfa was married; his son Giorgio , like his father, works as a politician. He died of an intracerebral hemorrhage .
