Forlani's cabinet
The Forlani cabinet ruled Italy from October 18, 1980 to June 28, 1981. The previous governing cabinet, Cossiga II , had resigned after a loss in the vote on the 1981 budget. Quite a few ministers from the previous government also belonged to the Forlani cabinet, which in parliament was based on a coalition of Christian Democrats (DC), Socialists (PSI), Social Democrats (PSDI) and Republicans (PRI). The government of Prime Minister Arnaldo Forlani fell because of the P2 scandal and was replaced by the Spadolini I cabinet .
