Hans Jessel

Hans Jessel (born January 22, 1956 in Westerland on Sylt ) is a German photographer and author on geographical topics.

Life

Hans Jessel worked as a community service provider at the Hörnum Wadden Sea Protection Station . His tasks included a. Slide lectures. He found that the image archive was inadequately equipped. He filled the gaps himself. From 1975 he traveled to many coastal regions of Europe, with the focus on the Atlantic coasts of France and Portugal, the Azores and Madeira . From 1975 to 1978 he studied agricultural science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität (CAU) in Kiel , where he met his wife Silke von Bremen . From 1980 to 1987 he studied geography, landscape ecology and zoology, also at the CAU, with a degree in geography. Travels to Berlin, Paris and New York brought her first contacts to the international photo art scene. He lives as a freelance photographer and author in Westerland.
