Giovanni Orlandi
Giovanni Orlandi (born September 11, 1938 in Milan ; † November 13, 2007 ) was an Italian Medievalist and Latinist specializing in Latin literature of the Middle Ages .
Life
He studied modern philology, classical philology and medieval history (1962: Milan: Laurea ). In 1964 he stayed in Munich to study languages , and in the following year he briefly studied with Bernhard Bischoff . He then became an assistant and lecturer in Middle Latin at the University of Milan , went to the University of Calabria as an associate professor for two years and taught from 1977 until his retirement in 2005 as a professor of Middle Latin philology in Milan.
