Summit is a talk show of the BR television . In every issue, host Werner Schmidbauer hikes with a prominent guest on a mountain in Bavaria, in the Salzburg region or in Tyrol. He talks to the guest about their life story. The highlight of every 45-minute broadcast is the hearty snack on the summit of the climbed mountain, which Werner Schmidbauer himself had prepared and had in his rucksack, including the self-made "Fleischpflanzl" , for which Schmidbauer is already known to his guests. In 2013 Schmidbauer had to make so-called “millet” for the first time instead of “Fleischpflanzl” because his guest Wolfgang Niedecken was a vegetarian. In 2015, as an exception, the guest Karl Ludwig Schweisfurth and in 2020 the pastor Rainer Maria Schießler brought home-made "meatballs".
So far, more than 95 of these mountain tours have been broadcast and on April 20, 2013 the program celebrated its tenth anniversary as part of a “summit meeting night”, in which several previous editions of the program were shown again.
