The Gisela-Gymnasium Passau Niedernburg (Niedernburg) is one of four high schools in Passau and is located in the buildings of the Niedernburg monastery . The grammar school is the second oldest school after the neighboring Leopoldinum grammar school and, alongside the Gisela Realschule, the only girls' school in the city and district of Passau. The grammar school has had its current name since 1966. The school was first mentioned in 1836. The school building, a former monastery, is much older.

The Gisela schools (grammar school and secondary school with associated schoolgirls) have been the only users of the monastery buildings since 2013, after the English ladies left the monastery in October 2013.

The bones of the namesake, Gisela von Bayern , are in today's school building.

At the end of the Second World War, school operations were interrupted in 1945 in favor of a hospital and military hospital and resumed on December 4, 1945.

In 2006, the grammar school took second overall place in the competition initiated by Unicum Abi , and first place in the categories of computer equipment and vocational preparation.
