Johannes Honegger

Johannes Honegger (born April 15, 1832 in Wald , † August 13, 1903 in Alvaneu Bad ) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Johannes Honegger was born on April 15, 1832, the son of nail smith Ludwig Honegger in Wald. After attending primary school , Honegger ran a nail forge together with his father and brother Kaspar in the hamlet of Dändler in the municipality of Wald. In 1853, Honegger and his brother founded the cotton weaving mill Hub in Wald with 50 looms , which was destroyed by fire in 1860. After separating from his brother on business, he rebuilt operations in the hub on a much larger scale. With the construction of the Bleiche weaving mill in 1873, he specialized in fine weaving. After buying the weaving mill from Johannes Wild in Bubikonand other businesses he controlled around 771 looms in 1888. Together with Kaspar Spörri, he finally expanded to northern Italy .

Johannes Honegger, who was married twice, died on August 13, 1903 at the age of 71 in Alvaneu. His business was carried on by his four sons.
