Gisela Geiger-Nietsch

Gisela Geiger-Nietsch (born February 21, 1927 in Dresden ; † March 9, 2013 ) was a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Social Court .

Life

After graduating from high school, Gisela Geiger-Nietsch studied law in Leipzig and Berlin. After successfully passing the first and second state examinations, she worked as a lawyer in Berlin until she became a social judge in June 1955 .

From February 1961, she moved to the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs for five years , where she was responsible for the protection of women and young people at work .

Subsequently, Geiger-Nietsch was again a judge in social justice , initially at the Social Court in Frankfurt am Main , from November 1966 to August 1975 at the Hessian State Social Court , until she was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court in September 1975 . Here she was a member of the 11th Senate until she retired at the end of February 1989, which at the time was responsible for the pension insurance for employees as well as for old age benefits and health insurance for farmers .

Gisela Geiger-Nietsch died at the age of 86.
