Gissler & Pass GmbH is a German packaging manufacturing company based in Jülich and Rodenberg .

The company, which was founded as a paper manufacturer, today offers a range of sales and transport packaging, sales displays and corrugated cardboard sheets for direct offset printing.

In 2016 Gissler & Pass employed 470 people. The turnover in 2016 was around 96 million euros and has been a member of the Alliabox network since 1997 .

history

The paper finishing company founded by Hermann Gissler and his cousin Carl Wilhelm Pass in 1882 took up corrugated cardboard as a packaging material, invented by pharmacist Albert Jones in 1871 .

In 1924 Walther Gissler recognized the future potential of the material corrugated cardboard and bought the Jülich corrugated cardboard company owned by Thompson and Norris from England.

In 1961 Richard Gissler-Weber founded the branch in Rodenberg. In 1963 Gissler & Pass took over Dürener Druck und Verpackungsgesellschaft DDV and expanded the production program to include offset-laminated packaging.

In 1994 all plants were certified according to ISO 9001 .

In 1997 Gissler & Pass joined the Alliabox network and thus expanded its international focus across Europe.

In 1999 Gissler & Pass presented G- and F-wave products in direct offset printing.

Between 2003 and 2006, the Rodenberg plant expanded its range to include offset-laminated packaging. In 2007 the Jülich plant commissioned a new line for laminating large-format double corrugated cardboard . The working width was 1,620 × 1,620 mm. In addition, the foundation stone for the new offset printing plant was laid this year - the property was acquired and construction began. The official inauguration took place in 2008. From now on it was printed in XXL format. In addition to three printing machines, the offset print shop has a state-of-the-art warehouse and logistics concept, an automated color laboratory and a central ink supply. The print shop meets the highest environmental standards and enables resource-saving production.

In 2011 all plants were FSC certified. 2013 certification of all plants according to DIN 50001 .
