The joint municipality of Rodenberg is a joint municipality in the district of Schaumburg in Lower Saxony . The municipal association has its administrative headquarters in Rodenberg .

geography

Geographical location

The combined community is located in the Deister-Süntel Valley between the Deister and Süntel ridges and the Bückeberg mountains southwest of Hanover . With the federal highways B442 and B65 and the BAB 2 (junction Lauenau) there are cheap connections to Hanover, Bielefeld and Hameln . The Rodenberger Aue and other small brooks flow through the municipality.

history

The integrated community of Rodenberg was formed in the course of the Lower Saxony regional reform in 1974 . It has six member communities that previously belonged to the disbanded districts of Springe (Hülsede, Lauenau, Messenkamp, ​​Pohle) and Grafschaft Schaumburg (Apelern and Rodenberg). In addition, small communities were dissolved and larger ones joined (see structure ).

The Samtgemeinderat of the Samtgemeinde Rodenberg consists of 32 council women and councilors. This is the specified number for a joint municipality with a population between 15,001 and 20,000. mayor

Georg Hudalla (CDU) is the full-time mayor of the joint municipality of Rodenberg. In the last mayoral election on May 25, 2014, he was elected with 50.3% of the vote. His opponent Sven Janisch (SPD) received 49.7%. The turnout was 54.7%. Hudalla took office on November 1, 2014, replacing the previous incumbent Uwe Heilmann (SPD), who had no longer stood as a candidate.

    • Schwedesdorf Castle (built by the Knights of Münchhausen between 1596 and 1600)
    • Meysenbug Castle (built in 1610 by the von Zerßen family)

Numerous companies are located in the commercial areas of the joint municipality. The Oppermann publishing house in Rodenberg produces print products for all of Germany and publishes four weekly newspapers. The Rodenberg company KTR specializes in plastics technology. There is a truck center near the Lauenau motorway slip road. A supraregional logistics center is developing here.

The combined municipality of Rodenberg is divided by the A2 . Connection points are located directly in Lauenau or in neighboring Bad Nenndorf . It is also bounded to the north by the B65 . The B442 runs from north to south . The pied piper city of Hameln or the state capital Hanover with its Langenhagen airport can each be reached in 30 minutes. The nearest train stations are in Haste , Bad Nenndorf and Bantorf . There is an express bus from Lauenau to the Haste S-Bahn station . The public transport is ensured by the Schaumburger Verkehrs-Gesellschaft .
