Lyhren is a district of the municipality Apelern in the Samtgemeinde Rodenberg in the district of Schaumburg in the state Lower Saxony in Germany .

geography

Lyhren is one of the two smallest districts of Apelern with around 110 inhabitants. The street village is located in the Soldorf Basin between the foothills of the Süntel , Bückeberge and Deister mountain ranges . The Salzbach flows through Lyhren , a tributary of the Rodenberger Aue that rises in the Bückeberge .

The Rehbruchsmühle is located on the Salzbach, about one kilometer west-southwest of Lyhren. The former water mill is a locality of Lyhren.

history

Lyhren is one of the oldest villages in the area. In 1846 the place already had 188 inhabitants in 22 houses. Lyhren is characterized by former farms, the forge, tailor's workshop and the shop that used to be in the village have been closed. A café only opens on weekend days. The Lyhrener church and school have always been in Apelern.

On March 1, 1974, Lyhren, like the surrounding villages of Groß Hegesdorf , Kleinhegesdorf , Reinsdorf and Soldorf, was incorporated into the municipality of Apelern. Lyhren has no local council. In 2007 the municipality of Apelern applied for the districts of Apelern, Lyhren and Reinstorf to be included in the village renewal program of the state of Lower Saxony.

The village has the volunteer fire brigade , a hiking group and the Lyhren hunting association .

The trombone Lyhren eV has been around since 1911. A special feature with brass choirs is that this also is a membership club in the register of associations is. The centenary in 2011 was celebrated together with a large festival service in the Archdiakonatskirche Apelern . Numerous neighboring trombone choirs supported the Lyhrener trombone choir.

Attractions

In addition to the war memorial at the end of the village, Lyhren has four listed courtyard buildings or facilities. Among them is the oldest half-timbered building in the village, built in 1826 as part of the Lyhrener Dorfstraße 13 courtyard complex. Its gable shows the easternmost Schaumburg cap .
