Gitta Günther

Gitta-Maria Günther (* 1936 in Stettin ) is a German archivist , non-fiction author and editor, particularly on the history of the city of Weimar and the Buchenwald concentration camp .

Life

Born in Stettin in 1936, Gitta-Maria Günther worked as a municipal archivist in the Weimar City Archives from 1959 to 2001 . During this time she published - together with Lothar Wallraf - on behalf of the City Council of Weimar - the work History of the City of Weimar .

In 1997 Günther was the editor of the second, improved edition of the non-fiction book Weimar published by Böhlau Verlag . Lexicon on city history .
